Neon Yellow Blotches HELP!!!!

A friend of mine opened a tote of her daughter's 0-3 month clothes and almost everything has neon yellow blotches on them. She is very upset that the clothes may be ruined. Her daughter is almost two so they have probably been stored about that long.

Has anyone ever had this happen? Do you know how to prevent this from happening? Why did it happen? Will they come out of the clothes?

  • Sounds like mold. Try washing them with vinegar and letting them dry in the sun.

  • Neon yellow isn't mold, it's probably spit-up stains. A good soak in something like oxy-clean and line drying in the sun should help.

  • Thank you ladies! My friend and I both think it is spit up because it's only on the outfits her daughter wore a lot and only on the front of them. She is going to wash them and pray it comes out!! Thanks again!!
