I know what its like to have people not look you in the eye. I have an autistic son and when they realize he's not "normal",they avert their eyes.
    I meet everyone's gaze

  • I have worked with many wheel chair bound young kids, and the most they say is no one will look at me ,It breaks my heart ,you see just because they are not the same as we are, their mind is! They a re just like you and i on the inside.Even a friendly hello means so much.

  • Sadly enough I do judge people.

  • I have trouble making eye contact with anyone, regardless of handicap, race, gender, whatever. I do not deliberately avert my gaze away from them, however. I will speak to them, I will hold a door or assist them in some way if I see they need it and would appreciate it. If I can tell they need the help but would be offended or angry by my offer, then I won't.
