Do kids cut teeth at 5 years of age?

I personally didn't think they did. I thought the last ones they get is age 3? But a friend of mine says her son is cutting teeth. He just turned 5, but she says that he is coughing and has a runny nose and she thinks he is cutting teeth because he is chewing on his thumb on the side of his mouth.

  • Yep - kids will get teeth right through their late teens, when the wisdom teeth finally come in. Here's a link to a website that outlines when to expect teeth to come in.

  • I'm not sure which ages they get them, but I do know about these because my 5 year old is getting them.

  • Sure. Molars come in at all different ages. I know adults who are still having molars come through.
