How often do you bath your kid(s)? [pre-teens]

If they are not directly dirty, like playing out in mud etc, but just a day's living.

I'm wondering why we generally bath/shower every day when we aren't dirty?

  • My 10 yr showers every morning, unless he showered the night before. He might not be visiblly dirty, but if he doesn't wash off all the sweat from running around all day, he tends to get smelly.

  • i bathe my kids (ages 4, 2 and 1) every other day unless they got really dirty on their "off" day. their skin dries out too easily if they bathe everyday.

  • My 9, 11, and 13 yo's take a shower every day. My 2 yo takes a bath most nights but not every night - he enjoys it! My 8 month old I usually stick in the tub every other night with my 2 yo when he's taking a bath.

  • Both of my boys shower every morning, sometimes they will shower in the evenings as well depending on sports practice. I leave it up to them - they are able to keep themselves clean.

  • I always made sure my children were bathed every night and washed off in the mornings. Now that they are old enough to do it for themselves, they automatically get in the bath/shower every night and wash themselves off in the mornings. If its too hot outside, they'll usually shower/bathe twice a day.
