2 Bumps

Has anyone had a 12 weeks ultrasound and saw two lines and still ended up having a baby girl?

Since heard 3 lines or white dots meant it was a girl and two was a boy...they didn't see any nub though...but at 12 weeks, it's still too soon to determine anything. I was just wondering....

  • I'll find out at 16 weeks, but I was just curious if anyone had two lines at such early stage but ended up having a girl. Feeling so impatient and want some hope...I already have a baby boy and two brothers are so fun but boy it would be nice to have a girl. Thanks for the congrats! We're very excited. As long as baby is healthy but u know...can't help but wonder....can't wait to go shopping for baby stuff !!

  • Way too soon, my dr. didnt do my gender ultrasound until 20-22 weeks with all of my pregnancies. 16 weeks may still be too soon as sex organs begin forming at 16 weeks. I would wait til at least 18-20 weeks.

  • Sex organs don't develop at 16 weeks. If they did, then I wouldn't have had a CLEAR picture of my son at 13 weeks. The u/s tech was surprised it was so clear, but the development was spot on for a 13 week baby.

  • The genetalia isn't formed til later - you can't find out a definite sex even at 16 weeks - it's just a guess. Even at 20+ weeks they can be wrong about the sex.

  • Could go either way at this point

  • Genitals form externally between 12-14 weeks, however they are not FULLY formed until between 16-18 weeks. With DS we had a lvl 2 u/s at 12wks 5 days and he was defiently a boy. DD #2 we saw 3 lines at 12wks 5 days by lvl 2 U/S. Both were 70% of gender assurance. We had an U/S at 20wks for both each and ds was stil a boy and dd #2 was still a girl. Even at 34wks dd #2 is still a girl!

  • The best time to tell the sex of the baby (when it's most accurate) is between 18 and 22 weeks.

  • I also had an u/s at 12 weeks 4 days and we got a good luck at the private area but I have no idea if it was a boy or girl. I didn't see the 3 lines and definately ddin't see a penis. I just saw what looked to be two puffy things. So that could be a swlooen labia or the testicles. Mine didn't have a nub either and they say you can usually go by the nub. I found out with my DD at 16 weeks but on this one they are making me wait until 18 weeks. I can't wait to know either!!!!
