I want to get our 6yo DS a duck for Easter, how much work does it take to keep up with it? Thanks

  • I kinda think it's wrong to get a "pet" just for a holiday. Won't your child be upset when you have to take it away? Isn't it unfair to the duck to be given up for no good reason at all?

My grandpa did this when my mom was little. Every year she was heart broken.

  • That's right, there are zoning laws for farm animals. ...and how are you going to keep a duck from flying away? lol

  • yeah,they fly quite well.
If your area allows them, you can get the wings clipped and it won't be able to get more than a foot off the ground

  • Ducks need a "house" to live in outside. They can't be kept in a cage like a parakeet
