My 2 year old DD smells gross when I change her number 1 diapers

I give my 2 year DD a bath every day and I change her diapers often but she smells nasty when I change her number 1 diapers. I make sure I am cleaning her good but she still smells. Is there anything else I can do?

  • It doesn't smell like urine. It's hard to explain but it smells like she hasn't had a bath in awhile but she has. She drinks A LOT and we heavily dilute her juice. She has really sensitive skin so I use the Aveeno Baby wash with oatmeal and unscented baby wipes.

  • does she use disposible diapers? some babies urine can mix with the chemicals in them and make a downright nasty smell

  • not tryingto be gross but do you wash the inside of her labia? it can get white funky stuff in there and make her stink, my brother's girls were like that til i pointed it out to him (i used to babysit them) gl

  • Check with her doctor. Not claiming to know anything, but maybe she has a yeast infection or something? Can babies get those?

  • She doesn't really have discharge or anything. I do wash the inside of her labia. I think I will just take her to her pediatrician and have them check her out. Thanks for the comments.

  • Size one diapers? On a two year old? She must be super small. Some diapers have a strange smell when mixed with urine. To be on the safe side talk to her doctor about it.

  • She wears size 4 diapers. I just meant it smells when I change her diapers after she goes number 1 (pees).
