What is your night time routine?

Just wondering what other people do for their night time routine, I need to make some changes to mine. My kids go to bed way to late.

  • My dd is 4. She gets home exausted. I let her have a snack and watch tv for a bit. Then its dinner, bath and bed. She goes to bed no later than 8pm. But weekends she stays up if she can lol

  • Doing a routine earlier is the key! If they are fed early and bathed then they are able to relax more. How old are your kids so I can get a better idea?

  • We used to have dinner, homework once they were older, baths, reading and cuddling, lights out. Our kids went to bed at 7 PM for the longest time and it gradually got moved to 8 PM once they were a little older and then 9 PM when they were in high school. It was never later than 9 as they needed their sleep. They knew it and welcomed it.

  • Steph my kid are 4, 4, (yes they are twins) and 7 I try to get them into bed by 9 but it never happens, My 15 yr old usually likes to go to bed at like 8:30, I have to constantly tell my 7 yr old to go to sleep, he will finally fall asleep about 10-10:30

  • Our youngest had trouble getting to sleep for awhile. He didn't need as much as our oldest. We would let him have a small light on near his bed and he could look at books but had to stay in the bed. Just an idea.........

  • dinner, bath, read books, lights out. Ds, 20mo. falls asleep right away. DD, 3 1/2, takes a little longer, but eventually falls asleep after the lights are out. I know from my niece/nephew, if you're kids watch tv at night like them, you need to turn it off half an hour before putting them to bed so they can wind down, other wise they just fight it.
