  • Our family rule is 16. And thus far, none of them have gone out and found someone to date just to be dating when they turned 16. My oldest boys are twins (now 21) and one found the love of his life his senior year of high school at the age of 17 and married her last summer at the age of 20. His twin didn't date at all in high school nor after he graduated either. He found his love at the age of 20 and they will marry as soon as he has a full time job with benefits. My 16 year old daughter turned down 3 dates to the prom, coming home telling me that she just doesn't have time in her life to date at the moment.

  • I'm fine with the type of gf/bf my middle schoolers have. They hang out at school or the occassional school dance. But they need to be 16 before they go on a real date.

  • I have been telling my son that he can't date until he has his Bachelor's degree. He believed my until 7th grade. I have set 16 for dating, he doesn't need to before then.
