Sex of the baby

when can the doctors tell the sex of the baby? if they get a good look the first time.

  • I was told 21wks this pregnancy.. but I think that's more for determining sex of the baby and development parameters.. Since my insurance only covers 2 ultrasounds and one is done early to determine pregnancy I waited.

  • You can find out as early as 13 weeks. But doctors will not check for the sex until 18 to 22 weeks. But I did not find out until 35 weeks. My baby girls was shy. Haha!

  • I've known some people who find out early but the time when it is most accurate is between 18 and 22 weeks.

  • Typically the area is developed enough at 15 weeks, but drs. dont usually do appointments until at least 18.. most at 20.

  • I think anywhere around 18 to 20 weeks if the baby is laying in the right position.
