How does it work when your child gets their child support payments if their father receives unemployment

is it on a card ,or through the mail , what happens in these cases. details please and yes he's behind in payments

  • They still garnish his checks and the person getting it gets it the same way.

  • Mine has always gone through child supp enforcement so when mine was unemployed they sent in a letter and garnished the unemployment checks. It took a few weeks to get money from them. Then you can get no more then 50% of those checks. So lets say your child support is $600 a month. Lets say ex is getting $200 a week, that is roughly $800 a month in unemployment. You could not get more then $100 a week per check. You would then get $400 a month not $600.
