  • Im sure some NON FDA controlled herb or additive will work for someone, but in my opinion it's just fake hype to get you to buy expensive herbs or "supplements" that could be anything, including harmful to you.

  • Try the other route of going Gluten free. I have 2 friends who's kid's seemed cured once they got them totally off gluten.

  • Try Naturopathic foods. Cut out the flour, sugar, white rice, etc. Look up Naturopathic. I know someone that got rid of cancer with this remedy. Don't go crazy on Homeopathic. There is one I use on a waitress that gets really hyper, and I use to go to sleep on restless nights. Calms Forte. It's all natural and helps calm. One pill for him to see how it does. I get it at Walgreens. Has a picture of a quarter moon with a nightcap. I have to give my waitress two and sometimes three when she won't stop talking (lol). She WILL drive everyone nuts.

  • I started my son on fish oil. He teacher recently called and asked what we were doing differently as he has been able to stay on task so much better.

  • There are many therapists who work with people who have ADD/ADHD; they teach them not just coping skills, but how to use ADD/ADHD as an advantage in their lives. Thom Hartmann has written extensively on this topic; you should be able to find his books art your local library, there is lots of information at his website: http://www.thomhartmann.com/category/thom/adhd-education/.
You may also want to explore how foods affect behavior, either from the Feingold Organization (www.feingold.org ) or another source. We eat a "clean" diet; no processed foods, no chemical additives, no meat, very little dairy
My daughter's attention issues were helped dramatically by fish oil supplements (though we have since switched her to hemp oil). It is important to use a good brand, like Nordic Naturals; it takes about 8 weeks to become effective. We recently discovered that magnesium supplements also help.

  • I am not aware of any homeopathic treatments; you should consult with a homeopath, if you are interested.

  • We use fish oil & Sea Buddies Concentrate. He skipped the Sea Buddies for a couple of weeks and he started stuttering & repeating again. It also helps to have your child tested for food sensitivities. RAST test for IgG antibodies. Remove all that test positive for.

  • i would try a clean diet first. rule out dairy or gluten issues before adding medication, homeopathic or allopathic. fish oil is great, so is flax seed oil. my husband is a chiropractor and has a few add and adhd patients. they say it helps too.
