What can I do to get my nephew to do his homework?

He is just so lazy and i don't know what I can do to get him to care. His parents aren't able to do anything with him.

  • What is he doing instead of homework? TV, video games, Playing outside? Whatever it is take it away after his homework is done then he can do the activity he wants to do.

  • Tell him that if he does not do it, then you will have to email the teacher & tell her that he is refusing to do homework.

How old is he? Leverage works wonders. what ever is his favorite thing, needs to be taken away until he completes his homework for the week.

  • Nothing else enjoyable allowed until homework is done. An adult should sit with him or be close by to help if needed.

  • Agree with the others. Everything else needs to disappear until it's done and come back gradually as it's earned.

  • he would probably like his own work space.

    1. a mini desk/table
    2.box of crayons/pencils/erasers/sharpener/markers/tape etc.
3.folder to put his assignments in
4.provide a nutritionl snack before homework to get him going.
5.sit with him he might need help/encouragement
    6. have a routine so he is used to it right when he enters that front door!
