My 8 month old doesn't like to eat solids. I am trying to get her to eat fruit at breakfast, some veggies at lunch, and veggies and fruit at dinner, but she doesn't want it. Any suggestions?

She just got over thrush and for the past week, she didn't want ANY solids, so I just nursed her. I don't know if I just have to get her back into the routine and it'll take time, or what.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks : )

  • She'll tell you when she's ready.. just keep nursing, she's fine.

  • What ObbyDobbie said. Also, instead of baby food, try mashing up potatoes, peas, etc and making them the consistency of baby food. She may like that better.

  • Offer, don't sweat it. This isn't a problem, really. The solids are an extra, not a necessity.

  • Yup. Follow her lead. Solids at this age are mostly practice. The main source of nutrition is formula or breast milk until 12 mos.
