  • Before buying or selling any body care products, it is important to check the safety of the ingredients. I like the Skin Deep database maintained by the Environmental Working Group (the folks who publish the guide to pesticides in produce).

Avon and Mary Kay, among others, make a big public show of their support of breast cancer research and victims, yet refuse to stop using cancer causing ingredients in their products.

  • in order to stay active with Avon, the rep MUST place an order every 2 weeks...Deliveries are every other SUNDAY.... you have to be there to sign for the delivery from the PRIVATE company that delivers for Avon. I did not make any money as a rep, in fact I spent so much money, that I had to quit. I had LOTS of customers... the cost of the website is $7.99 biweekly and is waved if you have ONE order every 2 weeks from your website. Lots of little details to keep on top of as if you don't you will be paying and paying.
The commission is different for every item you buy, so one item might get you 30%, while another gives you 20%. your first 4 orders you get UP to 50%, but again, not on all items. way to confusing and not a money maker unless you have a HUGE team and they have a team also.

  • The % you get isn't much so you really need to be able to sell in order to earn. The biggest problem I had with Avon was there are tons and tons of reps everywhere. They do have low start up costs but then you need to figure in the costs of your books and if you want to have samples on hand and so on. I never made any money with it. I ended up going with a different business and it's worked much better for me. You really have to search and do your research.....find something you'll like or you could end up losing money and being unhappy. GL!!

  • My friend does AVON and has been in it for a long time. I think she does pretty well with ith. I recommend you look into it and see how many reps there are in your area that sell it. I know out by me, AVON and Marykay is everywhere! If you are interested in looking into other Direct Sales Companies, let me know. I am w/ Gold Canyon CAndles and absolutely love it! Plus I was able to start my business for free. Send me a msg if you would like to hear more.
