How many people do you personally know that can't find a job w/ what they went to school for?

  • about 20 people that I know. More than 1/2 have expeanded their search into other fields. Some are back in school for a new career path.

  • How much time do you have? LOL
    I cant find a job I have a degree in Psych and Human Services. My wood guy doesnt have a degree but worked for 16 yrs in the same factory & has been unemployed close to 2 yrs. He cant even get a job at McDonalds. My sons been unemployed over a year. I know multiple people with criminal justice degrees who also cannot find work.

  • One of my babysitters. He has his Bachelors in Economics, but even he says he didn't know what he wanted to do with his degree when he got out. He's now working at Jimmy John's and here while he goes back to school for nursing. (but his parents have a lot of money, he doesn't really NEED to do anything and I think that's part of the problem. I have a feeling if he really needed a job, he might could find some sort of office work, he just doesn't try very hard)

  • At least 10. Though statistics most people end up in fields completely unrelated to their education (sorry I don't have a link, I learned it in college). I'm sure the economy has driven that percentage up since.

  • I am in college some of my friends graduated last semester and a year ago and they cannot get a job in their field either and internships want to hire or take people with more then a community college ed so I am going back for welding.

  • 3 -one chose a field that did not suit her personality, and the other two are just not very reliable.

  • 3 one was in lawyer office field but not lawyer, the other was medical and she got no where and there was anther one but she also could not get into her field and is working in a gas station
