Journal comments

Sometimes I go to the journal page just to see what's up. Most often, I skim over the recent posts and move on. Once in a while, a post will catch my eye and if I have something that I think is positive or encouraging to offer, I leave a comment.

I wonder though, if you've written a journal post and get some random reply from someone you don't know, do you think it's weird?

I'd never, ever say anything negative (although at times I'll admit I've wanted to).
A recent question here about blocking replies to posts got me thinking about this.

  • No, I love it when someone actually comments (unless they're a bitch about it, which I think only happened once or twice and I removed the journals, or made them private or something). It's nice when someone takes the time to read it and offer their thoughts.

  • I would think it's weird, but I'd also be happy because I like having messages and what not to read lol

  • My journal posts are not available to all. They are only available to my friends.

  • I'm obviously talking about journals that are not private.

  • Not weird at all. If I wrote a journal and didn't make it "friends only", I would fully expect to have comments from people I don't know. I'm assuming everyone else does too, so comment away!

  • Journals is kind of like a more moderated answers section - you have a little more control over who reads it, nobody can reply anonymously, which makes them behave better, and you can delete the comments that really tick you off if you want. If people didn't want comments/feedback, they wouldn't put them out there.
