  • My older 2 kids learned the same summer when they were 6 1/2 and just about to turn 8. They probably would have learned before that but we had no where for them to ride where we were living at the time. Once we moved they learned pretty quick. The next summer my 3rd child learned. She was also 6 1/2 and her friend taught her (not me or my husband). I took the training wheels off and her and her best friend (who learned the day before) rode up and down the sidewalk until she figured it out. My almost 5yo has never even been on a bike with training wheels.

  • my neice started at age 4...but she hated it and refused to ride her bike (her father refused to keep training wheels on) but when she turned 5 she was okay with it. another little girl was 7. my kids still have training wheels.. at age 5.

  • whew....mine are 6 and 7 and we are hoping this year they both learn to ride. We stopped using training wheels when they outgrew their old bikes and they haven't yet 'mastered' their new ones.

  • My 3.5-year-old won't ride a bike WITH training wheels; he hates how it wobbles, regardless of how often I assure him it's not going to fall.

    I remember starting when I was 6.

  • My twins were 5, my daughter was 5, my youngest son wanted to keep up with the big guys so he was 2 1/2.

  • Mine's not old enough....but I never did. I can't ride a bike to this day. I tried several times over the years, but I'm lacking some necessary balance I guess. for the most part, I just fall over or run into things.
