Could this man just be too scared to ask me out?

Trying this I didn't get many replies.

He really acts like he's interested, I feel he is, but he has not asked me out. Well...he has..but my kids were with me (maybe he feels it's "safer" that way??). He has A LOT of emotional pain from growing up and I think he's scared of rejection, being hurt. Will a man not ask you out out of a deep fear of rejection? He's 36 and a wonderful guy, but I don't know what to do. I'm not going to ask him out.

  • why can't you ask him out? if you like him then give it a crack.. worst he can say is no.
otherwise you can just keep waiting and give it time to evolve.

  • Why won't you ask him out? Are you scared of rejection?

If you like the guy, ask him out. It is 2011...not the 1920's. Things change.

If I was getting impatient, I'd be like "look...bottom line, do you like me? Do you want to take me out? If so, ask, if not, no worries".

  • Just ask him. But if he is THAT afraid of rejection (or possibly other related things) and has such deep-rooted issues, be sure you can handle that if you think a relationship could happen.

  • Just ask him out for a lunch date or a coffee date, see what happens.

  • You said this man has alot of emotional pain from his childhood right? Do you really want a relationship with someone who hasn't healed from his past?
