How to clean pots?

I have a pot that I left on the stove a little too long. It's all burnt at the bottom and I can't get it off. How do I clean this?

  • I use SOS pads on my pots, you just got to use a little elbpw grease to get it clean again

  • boil some vinegar in the bottom to the point where the burned on stuff stops. It will loosen it. You can also just soak the pot in plain water for a week as water is the worlds strongest solvent.

  • What kind of pot is it? I would use bar keeper's friend with a sponge or dish cloth or a magic eraser on the BOTTOM OUTSIDE only. Don't use an SOS pad, as it will scratch your pot.

  • I have heated water, added automatic dishwasher crystals, and let the pot sit overnight. That worked VERY well.

  • If it's stainless, your best option is steel wool.

  • Soak in water with a fabric sheet like you use in your dryer.
