Is it normal for a six month old to smack his lips?

My son will be six months old next week and last week he starded smacking his lips alot. at first i just thought he was hungery but now ive noticed its all the time. ive had a hard time finding eny info on the internet as to wether this is normal or not.

  • I agree with these two ladies. My son kinda smacks his lips in his sleep, lol it's so cute. He's daddy does it too.

  • my son has been doing it since the day he was born. but it is his signal that he is getting hungry. if you are ten minutes past the smacking he will start to cry. I think it is normal as well.

  • Totally normal =] My DD will be 6 months old on the 3rd, and she does the same thing. I think it's cute =] It's probably entertaining to them, like their noises and whatnot.
