Crazy Newborn Sleep Pattern

Should I be worried that my 3m sleeps all day one day then refuses to sleep at all the next (which btw makes for a fussy baby at bed time)?

  • It's normal, if there's such a thing as "normal" for newborns. Mine did the same thing...she started getting more regular at about 2 months. Well, regular as in sleeping for longer hours. She's almost 6 months now, and we're slowly getting into a schedule. Tough it out, it should pass soon!

  • Check ou the book "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Baby" There is a lot of good info in there on how to get a set schedule and keepeveryone's sanity.

  • they sleep whenever...5 hours is "through the night" for an infant and her patterns will keep changing..just get her on a schedule (not too strict) and it will fall into place :)

  • My kids were always on a flexible but consistent schedule. You can look up tons of info on baby schedules and how to find one that works for you and your baby.
