Serious yet perhaps odd question for moms with daughters.

Do you ever get jealous of the attention your husband gives your daughter? Do you see her as another female taking attention away from you?

I only have sons so this is just a curious question. Thank you for any replies.

  • Not at all. I wish my husband gave MORE attention to our daughters.

I don't know that gender really has much to do with it. A father (or mother) might give more attention to his child of either gender than to his spouse, which could create those feelings. I've heard plenty of husbands complain that they feel like their wives love their kids more than their men, lol.

  • That has never happened, I feel pride at the attention my husband gives my daughters now and when they were kids, never for a moment did I ever see them as another female in respect to my husband. We are a unit, and they are part of that unit, odd question indeed!

  • Opposite. I've been trying HARD to get him to take a more serious role/interest in her. Like a daddy/daughter dance or something. I have a son and a daughter.

  • Oh gosh no I love it, I love that a man can show affection to his kids no matter the gender and just truly love them

  • No...not jealous at all...wish he would give her a little more. He's sometimes a hard ass and rough to be around and I think it would be nice to be a little more affectionate towards her.
