Do you let visitors walk on your carpet with shoes on?

Some people do not think about the germs that are tracked through the house by walking with shoes on. Do you walk around with shoes on? Do you allow your guests to?

  • I have a sock only policy in the house. Visitors are another thing though. I am very into letting guests do their own thing

  • Yes I do. I wouldn't dream of asking people to take their shoes off and I'm offended by people who do. Especially at a party: "What do you mean I have to take my shoes off? I planned my whole outfit around my shoes!" LOL

I already have a dog and two cats tracking dirt though the house anyway.

Plus, I never go barefoot because I'm a type 1 diabetic and it's dangerous to damage my feet.

  • I go barefoot, but I think its rude to ask guests to do the same. They're guests in my home, not residents. My duty as hostess would be to make their stay pleasant and comfortable for them.

  • I like to take my shoes off as soon as I get home, DH wears his around constantly and I don't care what guests do unless their shoes are muddy or snow covered

  • In my brand new house I have wood floors everywhere but my bedroom and the home office. I let people with shoes on in the house. But before that in our last place I asked people to take them off because we had white carpeting. My kids are adults so NO I didnt have white carpet with kids. That would be crazy. LOL

  • i wear house slippers. we are fixing up our first house, that means new carpet, i will be asking people to take their shoes off. we have one friend who doesnt wear shoes, so we will have a pair of slippers for him to wear inside lol. if their feet stink (its a trailer lol) then they have to take their socks off too and air them out lol. i dunno, we will see how long that lasts.

  • I would never ask someone to take off their shoes, it's extremely rude. And, although it's never happened, if someone asked me to remove my shoes, I would just leave. I don't let anyone see my feet!
