  • No, buy two bags of cranberries in the produce section. It's really easy to make your own cranberry sauce, the receipe is right on the package. You just boil them in water and sugar. They turn into awsome cranberry sauce that will impress your guests.

It you really want to impress them, grate some orange peel on top and sprinkle on a few walnuts. They'll be calling you Martha, lol.

  • two bags will make plenty. you can buy four if you want to but that makes a heck of allot of cranberry sauce. maybe your family likes cranberry sauce more than mine, lol.

i think one bag makes two cups of sauce so two bags makes 4 cups. 4 cups would be close to what you would get out of 4 cans.

  • i would take about 4-5 cans if that is what you want. Im making homemade right now. I took a can of crushed pineapple, drain and reserve the juice. Add water to the juce to equal about 4 cups. Put in sauce pan and add 1 cup sugar. boil and add 1 bag of fresh cranberries. turn down heat and simmer for 10 min. Take off heat and add 2 pks of jello. I used peach jello to mellow the cranberries. Refrigerate untill the consistancy of egg whites. About 1.5 hrs. Stir in diced apple and Optional- can of manderian oranges and nuts. Place in serving bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.

  • 2 bags will make you about 5 cups of cranberry sauce. Depending on how much your family likes it, you can need anywhere from 2 to 4 for that many people. I am using 2 bags for 14 people.

For each bag, you'll need 1 cup of water and one cup of sugar. I mix brown and white sugar. Just bring the sugar and water to a boil, then add the cranberries. cook for 10 min, stirring occasionally.

You can change the flavor by adding orange peel to the simple syrup (the sugar/water mixture), and diced oranges in with the cranberries.
