2 Bumps

Any remedies for pain after a week of workouts?

I just started working with a personal trainer for my weight loss program and I am almost unable to walk up and down stairs or sit without assistance... sounds like it's a bit much, but once I start working out, the pain goes away for that moment. Any suggestions would be awesome!

  • Don't forget to stretch through out the day. It's important so your body doesn't tense up. A warm shower, not to long, will help loosen your muscles as well. Don't forget to drink plenty of water.

  • A hot bath with some Epsom salts in the tub with you. It supposed to relieve aching muscles.

  • The stretching should help, as will the bath. Keep moving to help flush out the lactic acid, and get blood flow to your muscles. Don't stay sedentary! Go for a walk, and maybe try some gentle yoga to help relieve some of the pain.

  • Keep moving. Take walks throughout the week. You won't always hurt this bad - great job! Also stretching!

  • Thanks ladies for your suggestions. Hubby is about to head to get me some epsom salt! I can say I haven't been stretching throughout the day, so I am gonna definitely give it a try! Thanks again :)
