Age for movie theaters?

What is a good age to start taking kids to see movies in the theater?

  • IMO it's personal opinion, how your kids are in general. I was able to take all mine and have them sit through by 18 months (family movies, of course). I'd say if a kid can sit nice through a movie at home, and loud sounds don't bother them, they're old enough to try a theater. But if loud noises scare them, or they can't get through a movie without jumping around and acting out, don't attmept it for a while.

  • My son started at 2 and we went to see Toy story 3 he sat still through the WHOLE movie.

  • Depends on ur child .. I would say if ur child can sit at home and watch a whole movie then they will probably do good at a theaters plus now a day movies are like 70 min maybe so not very long ..

  • When your child can sit through the movie without causing a major disruption for everyone else around. Saddly, there are some people in their 40s who have never gotten this concept down.
