Do i take my son to er or more medicine?

my so and i took our toddler to his dr cuz he was complaining of stomach pains and he hadnt eaten at the dr.'s at around 6pm he had a fever of 102.00 so at 6:15 they gave him teylenol and when we left we went to pharmacy and my so gave him more teylenol at around 8:20 and i just measured his temp. about 30 min ago it was 102.6 rectal his meds said give every 6 hrs his nxt dose is at 2:20 am should i just give him more teylenol or take him to er he is asleep hes been asleep since we got home he had a infection in his throat and dihrrea and fever he has his follow up at 8am today what should i do?

  • Wait for his follow up.. And don't give him tylenol after only 2 hours again..

  • Take him to the follow-up appointment. No need to go to the ER if the appointment is in a few hours.

  • Agreed wait til the morning, now say he wakes up in the middle of the night, try giving him a ROOM TEMP bath, and if that dont help then call the nurse advice line on his insurance card tell the nurse and go fro there!! Hope things get better for you little one mom!

  • what can i do about his fever? hes really hot and hes wearing nothing but his pamper and tshirt

  • lukewarm bath will help with fever. If he wakes up in middle of night I would run him a bath to help with fever.

  • you have to go with your instincts they'll be more right on this one than those of us who aren't there.
    you can alternate tylenol and motrin every four hours.

  • I would wait until the doctor's appointment as long as he doesn't get significantly worse...

  • Motrin is ok to you, as you can take it at the same time you take Tylenol. Call the doc in the morning, and Motrin for the fever.

  • i gave him motrin and called his nurse's 24hr line an hour and half later his fever didnt go down and he was turning red,they told me to take him to er and the dr would call ahead to let them know we were coming, he is home now they gave him so medicine for his fever and about 1hr and half later it started to go down he was dehydrated and started with dihrrea he had the stomach flu
