Weirdest Labor Helpers

What are some of the weirdest labor "helpers" you have read about or heard about? I'm not looking to make myself go into labor, but I've heard some pretty strange ones.

  • Sex - never seems to work for anyone I know lol, so I guess that would be weird. I think it's urban legend. =P

  • The semen can help soften the cervix, so it's not an urban legend, it just doesn't always work.

  • i also heard holding your pee, but i think that's supposed to be more of a warning than a helper

  • Really? Holding your pee? Lol. No thanks. I've heard Castor Oil and walking up and down stairs. But my doctor said you have a greater chance of your water breaking when your relaxed than when your standing or walking because the baby's head works kinda like a cork. Lol. And I still don't understand how eating something is supposed to make you dilate or contract lol.
