Collapse of the keynesian economic model?

Anarchists today broke away from one of the largest protests Britain has ever seen to bring chaos to the streets of London.

The Ritz hotel and Fortnum & Mason were among the buildings targeted in the capital after groups of rampaging youths intent on spreading havoc left the mass anti-cuts demonstration.

Around 500,000 activists and campaigners descended on London this morning to protest at the Government's drastic cuts programme.

But while the main march and rally in Hyde Park, which was addressed by Labour leader Ed Miliband, remained peaceful, splinter groups of anarchists went wild.

  • The Keynsian economic model has not collapsed and has nothing to do with the demonstrations in London. The present UK government is not following a Keynsian policy ; on the contrary it is implementing job-killing deficit reduction policies along lines redolent of the classical economic theory favoured by conservatives .

You are entirely ignorant of economics Carpy Try reading some economics before you jump in and make a fool of yourself . Start with Keynes General Theory .

This is an amusing comment coming from someone who has yet to ever make a statement in any econ-related question that does not directly contradict both copies of Econ textbooks I have sitting on my shelf as well as the more respected sources available online. But I guess janet in Canada knows more about American economics than all the sitting professors do, right?

They are implementing reductions because they are on the verge of collapse because they believed Keynes. The entitlements are collapsing and yes they have used Keynesian economics for many years. Please tell me why you do not believe they have. What is different?
