By definition, pound cake is simple and easy:
Old Fashioned Pound Cake

2 cups softened butter
2 cups sugar
3 1/4 cups all purpose flour
3 1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp almond extract
How to make it
Cream the butter, gradually adding the sugar, beating until the mixture in light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Combine the flour and salt, stir well, add to the creamed mixture.
Stir in the extracts.
Pour the batter into a greased and floured 10 inch bunt pan or loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool in the pan 10 minutes, remove from the pan and continue to cool on a wire rack.
