How is Melaleuca not a MLM?

This is part of their advertising (along with not mentioning the name of the company), but I don't see it...

  • From their own website-

Melaleuca's Compensation Plan is designed to reward independent Marketing Executives who develop customers for Melaleuca products. The income you earn from your Melaleuca business is determined by three factors: the number of customers you have, the amount each customer purchases each month, and your effectiveness in building a marketing organization that includes other Marketing Executives who help you expand your customer base as they build their own marketing organizations.

Hmm, sounds like MLM to me.

  • Melaleuca is not MLM. It's America's first Consumer Direct Marketing, and it has been this way since it opened it's doors back in 1985. There is a lot of junk on the internet, and you can't believe everything you read. If you want to know the truth about any company call the company directly, asking on a Forum isn't going to get you an answer. Check credible websites like www.bbb.org, not a blog. A blog isn't going to give you a legitimate answer, they're just stating their opinion. People should get the facts before writing or saying anything. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but one should know the facts as well.

As far as it being a pyramid, pyramids are illegal. Feel free to call the Company directly if you want a legitmate answer.

  • I have a question for you then mommy2joeynabby. If you don't sell any products then how exactly do you make money?

  • @ Jeremy's Mom: Alyssa stated what we do. We simply set up customer accounts. On another note, the link you put up: Melaleuca products isn't Melaleuca's official website. I had never seen that site before.

  • I got it from this website- http://www.melaleucacompensationplan.com/ which is registered under Melaleuca's name. So,another question. Do you make money off of your team? Let's say you get someone to sign up and they get so many "accounts" set up. Do you earn money from that?
