Did you get bad leg cramps when you were pregnant?

When I was pregnant with my son (now 2) I would get leg cramps so bad I would wake up with a scream in pain. (my poor husband!) Now I'm 22 weeks pregnant and last night was the first one I have had with this baby. I'm just praying I don't get them all the time like I did with my son.

  • Yes!!! I got them just about every night. My dr always told me to eat more bananas but it didn't help me any lol. good luck hun :)

  • Yes I had to drink more water. I had to get up to pee more in the middle of the night but that was my trade off. I'd rather pee alot then have leg cramps!

  • Yes. I used to get them a ton as a kid, last pregnancy I got a few, this time it's been A LOT. Bananas helped when I was younger, unfortunately this baby isn't a fan, but there are other ways to get potassium which helps (Coconut water for example).

  • with all 4 pregnancies if i stretched my legs out in when i was waking up. i would get charlie horses in my calfs really bad and it really sucked

  • no i never got them but i heard a nurse talking to a lady and she said if she drank vitamin water before bed she would get them very rarely i dont know if its true or not though

  • my midwife suggested I eat more foods w/ magnesium and drink more water. Also when you stretch your leg try really hard to remember to never to point toes, instead put toes pointed up towards you. Hugs I have had the same issue, those things helped.

  • Eat bananas. The potassium in them helps keep the cramps away. I had this problem with my first. A friend gave me ths advice and it worked.
