Closely Spaced Pregnancies & Diastasis Recti

hi! this is a random question but i'll be having another baby in october which means my pregnancies will be only 15 months apart. will i be at risk for diastasis recti (when your abdominal walls separate & the middle bulges out, so you end up looking 6 months pregnant forever)? has anyone had this? a girlfriend of mine had her babies 20 months apart and ended up with a severe case of diastasis recti and ultimately needed surgery. i'm just worried! i'm petite and i heard that petite women are mostly at risk for this!

  • I'd ask my Dr. about this. They would best be able to do a risk assesment for this sort of thing.

  • I have two babies 18 months apart, and this next baby will at the most be 13-14 months apart from my last. That being said I am 5'1 and 110lbs. Never had this issue. As soon as I can work out I go back to the gym and work on my abdominal muscles.
