Should my container of ricotta still be good?

i bought a container of ricotta with intentions of making vegetarian lasagna last week (saturday night). well i ended up not making it cause my sister invited us over for dinner. so it's unopened and been sitting in the fridge for a week. would it be good to use tonight?

  • Check the expiration date on it. It keeps for quite awhile but the date should be checked.

  • yes, ricotta stays good for a long time, and honey if it goes bad you will KNOW it. It grows all kinds of colorful mold and gets real watery, plus it stinks.

  • Check the expiration date. If it's open, it's only good for about 7 days, even if the expiration date is still good. Unopened, about 7 days after the expiration date.

  • yeah....I'd use it. It has a longer shelf life than people think, ESPECIALLY if you've never opened it.
