I have a ton of rice and need ideas of what to do with it.

I have never cooked rice before (unless it is the 90 second microwave kind). I am running low on food and pretty much have white rice, seasonings (tons of em), cheese, and tuna. Help me are getting hungry :)

  • Do you have cream of mushroom or chicken soup? Cook the rice, fix and add the soup, add the tuna. If you have a can of peas, this works well together.

  • Sounds like the makings of a casserole. Cook the rice, mix the cheese and tuna together and serve that over the rice. Use your seasonings to taste.

  • Broccoli and rice casserole,

rice and pork and beans (a cheap meal!),

chicken and rice (drag chicken in flour and brown in a pan of oil, then mix dry rice with some milk and poultry seasoning, put the chicken on the rice mixture and bake at 350 for an hour),

    Gumbo with rice,

Stew with rice (make a roux and add stew vegetables and meat),

Roast beef with rice and gravy (make a roast in the slow cooker, add beef broth, use the juices with the broth as gravy for rice... add flour to thicken)

  • Ground some of it up and make Horchata! There are some excellent recepies online under Bing. And I always us the leftover rice to make rice pudding! There are excellent recipes for that as well. Both excellent treats full of vitamins; that is if you have enough left over after making your casserole :)
