Healthy snacks?

Since I have a hard time eating 3 square meals a day with my schedule, my doctor told me to go out and buy a bunch of healthy snacks to keep with me and munch on throughout the day. So I went to the store and bought....fruit. I couldn't think of anything else! Can anyone help me with some ideas for quick, healthy, portable snack ideas? I do have a microwave and refrigerator throughout the day, it just needs to be something I can make quickly.

  • applesauce (no sugar!) and yogurts are good sweet treats and more shelf stable than fruit

    almonds, walnuts, trail mix, ect

    string cheese

    100 calorie packs of anything (they make EVERYTHING these days)

  • Fruit is a good one!! Yogurt, veggies (I cut them up ahead of time), there are a lot of things out there by like Special K, like protein bars, and stuff, light, low sodium soups, salads, even certain cereals, wheat thins, trail mix. I hear that a lot of docs. are saying that a few smaller meals a day are better than 3 big meals anyway, it keeps you full and helps maintain a healthy weight. That's just what I've heard.

  • A Hand full of nuts, Small cup of Cheerios or fat free Pretzels, 100 cal bag of popcorn, One or 2 pieces of Low fat deli meat rolled up with baby spinach and shredded carrots, a wedge of laughing cow cheese with whole wheat crackers

  • Nutragrain bars. I keep them in my purse for LO. Cuse that kid is hungrey all the time ,lol.

  • You've gotten some great ideas. I like apples with yogurt, Nature Valley bars, string cheese, salad (lettuce and other veggies), fresh fruit salad (cut up the fruit you bought and make it a salad to take with you), baby carrots/carrot sticks, cucumbers (slice 'em up and eat them either by themselves or perhaps in a salad, in a wrap, or dipped in a low-fat dressing), and healthy (or healthier) soup.
