Has your SO not eating food because it was made by a certain race?

My hubby will not eat my nephews wife's cooking because she is white. He says that white people can't cook black food. So for Thanksgiving he is eating tuna sandwhiches. I have never heard such stupid shit in all my life. Now he has a friend that claims she is part Mexican and because of that he will eat her food, and he will eat Amish food. He is not making any damn sense and he is really pissing me off!!

  • Wow, your hubby sounds like a real catch. No really he sounds like a racist asshole. I'd leave his sorry butt at home before I would let him hurt some one's feelings with his racist BS.

  • Wow, I'm white and I will admit that I am not always the best at making foods from different cultures, at least not the first time I make them. My Japanese MIL tells me I make "Americanized Japanese" and tries to show me otherwise...my black girlfriend tells me to give up on soul food, my Mexican friends just tell me to bring something "white" and let them handle the mexican. While I might not be the best at cooking all kinds of different foods, I've NEVER had someone sit there pouting and refusing to eat my food because I'm white and don't make it right. That is just racist and crazy.

  • Why doesn't your SO offer to bring an ethnic dish HE made all by himself?!

  • Let him eat tuna. He'll either learn to love that or get over himself.

  • Sorry you have to deal with him, and that attitude. Seriously, there are good and bad cooks in all races! I can understand not liking a certain kind of ethnic food, like..my grandfather cannot stand chinese food, but that does not mean he has an issue with Asians!

I am white....and between my father's family being New Orleans' Cajuns with my father having owned several (wonderful) seafood restaurants and my mother's family being Mississippi country-folk who really know how to do southern cooking (in fact, very similar to soul food!)....I could show him a thing or two about how white people can cook, LOL!
