Has anyone else noticed that your kids pencils don't sharpin as well as ours did?

whats wrong with these things? every single pencil i buy sharpens like crap...i've bought the cheapos and i've bought the expencive ones. and i've even went and bought 2 different sharpeners we have an electric one..they are just not the same! what the heck is wrong? are they just recycled 10 times as much or something? my kids in kindergarten and the teacher says she doesnt want them using the mechanical pencils but i swear i'm done with these crappin pencils.

  • I agree! I spend 20 minutes trying to get a pencil sharpened without it looking like crap...with no success.

  • I can't figure out what teachers have against mechanical pencils. When I taught I loved them, it kept kids from needing the pencil sharpener every 10 minutes.

  • I thought it was just me I also have noticed pens are becoming junk too. I used to love the papermate pens and now they clog way to easy

  • I've only noticed this with the cheap cutesy gift bag type pencils. Regular yellow #2s (like the kind we had as kids) still seem to sharpen fine for me.

  • I know how to solve that easily. Mechanical pencils!!! Lol they are the same thing but don't need sharpening.
