  • If you breastfeed, then you need to watch your own food. Dont eat anything that gives you gas or makes you constipated.

If you feed formula, then try another brand.

If none of that helps, you might want to ask your pediatrician. But there are a lot of babies who have those problems. Try to give him some warm tea between the feedings. That usually helps a lot with constipations.

  • Add some dark Karo syrup to his bottle - about 1-2 tsp. Pear juice or prune juice will also work. These are tried and true.

  • Try putting him on a formula that is for sensitive babies. But remember babies don't poop always like they say they should. My nurse at the hospital said that they should go about 3 times a day. My daughter was only going once. My doctor (baby doc) said that it is normal. Unless it is hard, your baby is fine. As far as the farting goes, make sure you are properly burping them. You may have to try it every couple of ounces to make sure all the gas is expelled.

  • Talk to your child's Dr. They should be able to tell you what's best to use.

  • If you breastfeed, it's probably a dairy allergy.

  • If he's moving his bowels regularly as you say he is, and the poop is not hard, dry, or pellet like, then he is not constipated.

  • Like Krysta said if his bm's are regular and aren't hard and he isn't straining then it's not constipation. If he is ff then you might want to switch to a sensitive kind with reduced lactose. It worked like a charm for my baby. If he is bf then try cutting dairy out of your diet.
