Should prison inmates be allowed to have facebook? Or internet access?

Okay, I know it get's boring in prison but here's where I draw the line! I know for a fact that inmates in CA are allowed online once a week. I had a family member who was incarcerated. Should murderers and other dangerous predators have another way to reach out? Isn't this a safety issue? Look at this, even Charles Manson has a FB page. He even has others who maintain his page when he can't get to it!

  • No, I don't think it should be allowed. If you're in prison you did something wrong and need to be punished, not given internet access.

  • Ya, and they can get a degree in prison too! Why not give them a room service menu while they're at it? BS if you ask me.

  • And we wonder why most criminals are not bothered by the idea of going to jail or prison.......
This country is so weak at punishments which is why we have so many damn problems.

  • i think so in a limited capacity. so that they can keep connected with family and children . the more connections, the more family connections inmates can keep going the better their chances are to become rehabilitated . and internet access is also used for teaching inmates so they can pass a GED, or even take trade school classes.
