I have noticed

That so many members who answer in the politics section are right wing conservatives.

Why is that? I'm really just wondering. I was taught to not believe everything I hear on Fox News...

  • Really? I see all sorts of people from the entire political spectrum. I respectfully suggest that you read more carefully. And, while I am a conservative, I am not fully a Republican, nor am I fully a Libertarian. I am someone who actually thinks for myself and doesn't blindly follow one political party. I don't watch FOX news. I also respectfully suggest that you be more careful with your assumptions.

  • Well I am not a tea party member, but I am a life long republican. I dont see that changing either. I was born and raised as one and it suits my interests more then it would being a democrat. My husband was a life long democrat, and is now an Independent. Both parties can in fact coexist and I am proof of that lol. I dont see a need to label anyone or to presume what they are.

  • Are you assuming all Republicans are Tea Party members?

She's already assuming anyone who disagrees with her only gets information from FOX news, so after an assumption that ignorant, does anything else she has to say really matter?

  • I watch more than one news channel and form my own opinions. Yes that means I also watch Fox. You can watch something without always agreeing with it.

  • Are you assuming all Republicans are Tea Party members? If you are assuming that you would be wrong.

  • I see both. But I see a lot more Republicans (or those who seem to be "tea party members". I just get curious about why they believe that way?

  • Well, I can say that there are a few libs on here (me being one) and a couple of moderates. But there is a group of active super conservatives that are nothing like any Republicans I know IRL. They are way extreme. They have the drums they all beat: liberal=Marxist, Soros is the leader of the Socialist Cabal, Obama is a Socialist(or secret Muslim illegal immigrant), and anyone slightly left of center is on public assistance and only believes that way because they are protecting their food stamps. lol

  • I am generally liberal (but have some moderate views), DH is a republican. We were raised in completely different household types though we grew up about 20 minutes from each other. I should have worded my question differently.

I just get really curious as to why people have the views they do. Idk, I always get curious about it. DH and I wont discuss politics because we're so different about them.
