Do boys usually have something "sticking up" in the 12 week scan?

I had my NT scan at 12 weeks and we got a good private area shot and all we saw was like two lumps. There was nothing sticking up. From what I have seen on the internet, boys thingy is alot of times already formed and sticking up. Did you see anything on your 12 week scan?

  • Genetalia is not formed at 12 weeks. So no, it's not possible for a boy part to be sticking up. You can't see genetalia til around 17 weeks, and even then, it can be wrong. I was told at 22 weeks that I was having a boy - 18 weeks later, out popped a girl!

  • All babies look like boys down there because of the way they develop.

They generally do not determine by whether or not something is sticky up or not. It is determined by the lines, 2 or 3, that are seen between the legs.

Here is a link on how the genetalia is formed
