Where did the Easter Bunny originate? I mean, I guess I never really understood the connection with the bunny and the true meaning of Easter, which has nothing to do with a bunny? Did I miss something in Sunday school?
The Easter Bunny is a throw back to the origins of Easter, the Spring Equinox celebration. This was/is a fertility celebration. The Bunny and Eggs are symbols of that fertility.

Not sure where the Easter Bunny originated from, but I use him to celebrate Easter. I don't celebrate it for the traditional religious reasons but have started my own family traditions that do include the Eater Bunny and coloring eggs. For us it is a day to celebrate our love for each other and spend the day together enjoying each others company.

What IS the "true meaning" of easter?
http://www.celtic-catholic-church.org/oak_tree/easter.html What I find most interesting about this article is the list of Anglo Saxon words at the end. that are related to the word Easter.
