How come our society, mainly men, are turned on by women gay interactions while being repulsed by men gays

It would seem to be very unfair to single out one sex as having aversive behavior while the same behavior is thought to be a turn on by society or men in particular. It would appear men are very uptight with the thought of gayness of men. I don't know how women feel about it in general.

  • Because they are attracted to female sexuality not men's.

  • I agree with ochasmom--they are attracted to women, even if those women are doing each other.
And good lord I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but I don't think most men are turned on by lesbians who look like men. My husband calls them "lumberjacks" and I don't think he's any more attracted to them than he is to a man.

  • I actually think that men's aversion to male gay sex is because when they are young teens, they sometimes are tempted to experiment with each other if left alone (lots of guys will never admit that it happened). Most guys go on to become straight but feel horrible about their impulses and steer themselves from that happening again. They also talk about how repulsive that act is. You know that old Shakespearian saying "Thou dost protest too much..."

    Just sayin'!

  • Funny story DH and I discussed this last night. I dont understand it. To me they're just two people. Granted I grew up with two moms, so I guess I just dont care either way so long as someone is happy and its not hurting anyone else.

  • because there not attracted to men

  • Okay, so, when I have asked this question to my peers, this is what I got . . . basically, a lot of people tend to "visualize the sex" when they are talkling about sexuality. The visual of "sex" between two women tends to be a lot less "involved" then the visual of sex between two men. To which I responded, "Yuck! Why are you visualizing other people having sex, anyway? I would hate it if everytime my husband and I were mentioned, people would think of us having sex."

    Strange. And wrong.

  • Personally, I think in general, men are a lot more homophobic than women. But also, aesthetically, women are just nicer to look at naked, heh. I'm straight as can be, but I can appreciate the beauty in a naked woman, and it just looks better than a dude with his dick swinging around, know what I mean? Naked men just look funny :D

  • What ImaginationMama? You don't want your friends fantasizing about your bedroom activities? What's wrong with you? wink mini

Answer by vicesix at 5:19 PM on Mar. 29, 2011

  • because they're imagining themselves having sex with those 2 women
a guy isn't going to imagine himself having sex with 2 guys unless he's bi or gay
