How do I get the mold smell out of clothes?

My washer was broken for 2 weeks and there was a wet towel in the hamper that molded alot of my son's and my clothes. Incuding my favorite jeans :(
How so I get the smell out? I already washed them once.

  • The best thing I've found is tea tree oil. I use it in all my laundry, both in the soap side and the softener side. It makes the laundry - even my husband's gross work clothes - smell fresh and clean and I have read it also kills mold.

  • make a soap slurry ..... like 3x the amount of soap u normally would use. let the washer start to agitate and then open the lid so the clothes are soaking in water and suds. leave 'em overnight and resume the cycle..... and then an extra rinse cycle or 2 for the extra soap to come off

  • I've always used brown bottle Lysol for mold and mildew. Wash once with Lysol and soap, and then wash/rinse normally.
