  • I've done alot of reading that if you simply cut out dairy (specifically cheese) and get your calcium in other sources you'll lose a few pounds a week from just that alone.

Fill up on GOOD stuff. Lotsa whole grains. And output (move, walk, work, exercise) more than u input

  • Make sure you're drinking enough water- the RDA for women is 11 cups a day, including water from foods.
Then, add fruits and veggies to your diet. Aim for at least 3-4 servings a day of each.
Then, start substituting whole grains for any refined grains.
Look for low fat or nonfat dairy and meat products.
Get rid of saturated and trans fats, and get rid of sugars and salt. No processed foods!
Add some exercise to your daily routine. Figure out what you enjoy doing and what you'll stick with. I run and bike, and they really help! I also lift weights a few days a week.

  • very simple, eat less, move more and throw out the scale. First magazine has great articles on weight loss techniques. For faster loss, eliminate carbs and eat low fat proteins and fruits and veggies.

  • Find exercise you love. Running, tennis, walking, whatever. Find a partner and find something active you enjoy. If you hate it, you won't keep it up. Strength training is excellent to supplement because the more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism.

Find healthy foods you love. Again, if you hate it, you won't be consistent. Experiment with different recipes etc.
