When can my 2 year old get a pillow?

I use a blanket as a pillow, but I always feel my daughter would like a small pillow? Any thoughts on an age that is safe?

  • I think by now it's plenty safe, especially if you give her a child sized pillow rather than an adult one. My DD has a little pillow in her crib but she doesn't really know what to do with it. She treats it more like another stuffed animal than a pillow. She's 2 1/2. I say give it a try and see if your daughter likes or uses it.

  • My kids had pillows around 18 months. If you're already using a blanket as a pillow then you might as well get her a pillow.

  • My son had a little pillow when he was 2, I think if you want to try to get her one it would be fine.

  • My son is 21 months and has had a pillow for awhile now. I think it's okay to give them a pillow as soon as they have mastered the use of their neck muscles so the can turn their head if they can't breath and shift easily into another position. He doesn't really use the pillow as a pillow though. He lays on his stuffed puppy at the other end and puts his feet up on the pillow. lol. XD
