How did you get your dd to potty-train?

She'll be 3 next month, shows all the signs of readiness. Pees or poops and then says "Uh-oh" but never realizes she needs to actually walk to the bathroom and use the potty. She's in real underwear and Easy-Ups at night.

  • day two.. for the first half the day do what you did at the end of day one.. on the potty until she goes, then off to play for an hour. The second half of the day, let her play, no diapers, no pants, no panties.. and let her try to remember to go potty herself when she has to go.
if day two is successful continue to let her go bottomless one more day. If unsuccessful on part two of day two, then repeat day two again.
after day three of success, try just panties. practice pulling them up and down. if you want repeat day two with panties. by the end of the week you should have a fully day time potty trained little girl :)

  • I had a system that worked for my dd..
day one: sit her on the potty chair. Get out books and set it infront of the tv and make sure you have all day to spend with her that day. Set her down.. no pants/diaper/undies.. on the chair. Then just let her stay there until she goes.. (keep her occupied, sing, watch a fave movie, read, etc).. then once she goes, let her play for 15-20 minutes.. then set her back on the potty until she goes again (this helps both you and her determine a rough pee/poo schedule).. after the second time go to 30 minutes.. the 3rd time go to 45 mintues.. and the 4th time go for an hour of play. soo on the potty until she goes.. then give her her play time, then when that time period is done, back to the potty until she goes again.
