Military pay grades

Does anyone know what the military pay grades are???? Many ladies argue about the amount of Social Security or Welfare people collect and that the military needs more so I am curious as to the pay they receive. Thank you.

  • What does SS and welfare have to do with military pay. Welfare recipients don't work for their PA and some SS recipients didn't work for that either. Military members do. You can find how much each pay grade gets by googling it. It has nothing to do with how many dependants they have either. My husband at e4 made 1500 a month he had been in for 5 years.

  • You can Google to find the charts.

  • She asked about pay grades, and pay grades have nothing to do with dependents. BAH, etc, include dependents, but the pay grade is solely based on the servicemember.

  • It is important when discussing service member's pay to INCLUDE ALL benefits that they receive monthly.
Monthly pay, BAH, and BAS has nothing to do with the # of dependents you have.

  • it depends on each person and how may family members they have as well as how long they have been in and what rank they are. as an e-4 with 3 family members my ex made less than 3 grand a month

  • My Hubby is an E-5 with 4 dependents been in the army for 7yrs and makes roughly $2500 +BAH

  • BAH is the housing allowance that service members receive each month if they decide to live off post.

BAS is the substinence allowance that service members receive to help offset the food costs of the service member. Currently, enlisted receive $323.87 a month & officers receive $223.04. If the service members eat at the DFAC (chow hall), they do not receive BAS.

  • Matthewscandi~~~~~Many people have worked and receive welfare because they have fallen on hard times. Not all recipients are mooches. Same thing goes for SS. Folks work and collect their money that was taken out of their paychecks for that benefit. Many children collect SSI due to disabilities. I am asking because everytime we try to discuss something to do with SS or welfare, the military gets thrown in ladies faces. So, I am curious as to the amount they get each month. People don't go into the military to get a paycheck. They go in for one of 2 reasons. A career and more importantly to serve their country. I am sorry this question offends you so much......
